Job DescriptionFunctions under the supervision of the Director of Nursing to plan, direct, and evaluate patient care, assuming management responsibilities as delegated. Assesses patient needs and develops, implements, and evaluates care plans. Collaborates effectively with other shifts and departments to ensure continuity of care. Participates in staff education, record keeping, and policy updates. Works within scope of service.
Principal Functions- Provide nursing care by organizing and directing nursing functions of patients.
- Assess patient conditions and develop care plans accordingly.
- Supervise service personnel and ensure standards are met.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor patient responses.
- Perform lab draws, Point of Care testing, and document findings.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge patients, and instruct patients and families.
- Maintain accurate documentation and report to relevant personnel.
- Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and quality improvement activities.
- Support hospital safety and infection control policies.
- Assist in training staff and students, and evaluate personnel performance.
- Stay informed on current nursing trends and developments.
- Maintain professional conduct and comply with legal and hospital policies.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum one year of RN experience; psychiatric experience preferred.
- Current RN licensure.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide age-appropriate care.
Exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious diseases. Requires physical activity including walking, lifting, and quick response to patient needs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and perform patient care activities involving lifting up to 100 lbs.
