District Manager – East Lansing, MI
Job DescriptionRally House is a specialty retail company with over 180 stores nationwide. We seek a District Manager to lead multiple stores, develop strong teams, and deliver the Rally House experience across a market. The role includes overseeing store performance, customer experience, visual presentation, and operational excellence, while coaching Store Managers and driving company initiatives.
Responsibilities- Financial: Drive and maximize the customer experience, control labor within guidelines, manage KPIs, analyze financial data, and support weak areas while training Store Managers.
- Leadership: Conduct store visits, provide feedback, motivate leaders, communicate clearly with all levels, plan and delegate tasks, and implement company programs to exceed customer experience and operational objectives.
- Management: Plan and prioritize objectives, effectively organize resources, and supervise Store Managers through planning and direction.
- Visual Presentation: Ensure visual merchandising and store standards, conduct visits to enforce consistency, and provide feedback using store visit guides.
- Store Operations: Communicate policy compliance, ensure proper scheduling, and complete operational tasks.
- Employee Relations: Attract, recruit, retain talent, develop succession plans, train on procedures, administer discipline, and improve operational efficiencies.
- Event Venue Management: Foster relationships with school partners, oversee inventory control and merchandising, participate in campus events, and recommend business improvements.
- Personal Characteristics: Demonstrate initiative, adapt to change, and exemplify a “Whatever It Takes!” spirit.
- Travel full shifts within a geographic area, travel overnight as needed, and work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
- Adapt to change and assume added responsibilities.
- Multi‑task and balance multiple priorities.
- Interpret retail data and apply solutions.
- Excellent organization and execution skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Proactive and creative problem‑solving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Track record of delivering exceptional customer experience while controlling shrink and payroll.
- Strong merchandising, visual, networking, recruiting, training, and operational skills.
- Minimum 3–5 years of store management experience; 1–2 years of multi‑store management preferred.
- Knowledge in fashion apparel and proven results.
- College degree preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 2‑weeks at a time during events.
- Physical requirements:
stand, walk, talk, lift up to 50 lbs, work around equipment and ladders.
Salary range: $80,000 – $140,000 per year. Benefits include flexible PTO, 401(k) match, parental leave, and ongoing development opportunities.
