Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage their accounts receivable functions in East London. This role is responsible for ensuring timely collection of payments, accurate application of cash receipts, and maintaining clean customer accounts. You will play a vital role in managing cash flow and supporting the company's financial stability. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients.

• Process and apply incoming customer payments accurately and efficiently.
• Generate and send out customer invoices and statements.
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
• Contact customers to follow up on outstanding balances and resolve payment issues.
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to the general ledger.
• Prepare aging reports and provide regular updates on accounts receivable status.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable.

• High school diploma or equivalent; bookkeeping or accounting certificate is advantageous.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or credit control.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and collection techniques.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
