About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join their team in East London . This role is vital in accurately forecasting the costs associated with commercial construction projects, enabling informed decision-making and competitive bidding. You will analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates, working closely with project managers and procurement teams. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in securing new projects and contributing to the growth of a respected construction company in the Eastern Cape, ensuring profitable outcomes through precise cost forecasting.
Key Responsibilities- Review project plans, specifications, and other tender documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs and analyze material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and present cost estimates to management and clients.
- Identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities within project bids.
- Maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost data.
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator , with a focus on commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing structures.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Plan Swift, Bluebeam Revu) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately.
- Experience working in the East London construction market is a plus.
