Job Description & How to Apply Below

City of London School has an exciting new opportunity for a hardworking, team player to join our Facilities team as a Facilities Supervisor.

The purpose of the post will be to assist the Facilities team in providing support to the life of the school in its many non-teaching aspects. There will be a particular emphasis on overseeing the cleaning and security contract, general repairs and maintenance, supervision of the school keepers and reception staff and associated functions, as well as ensuring the health & safety and well-being needs are met for all pupils, staff and visitors.

The post will involve being hands on, ensuring all the facilities functions can be maintained to meet the schools needs. A good team working culture is encouraged especially during busy periods and periods of sickness, leave or extended absence.

It is important that all facilities staff are familiar with all aspects of the wider facilities and operational teams roles to enable staff to cover different shift patterns and responsibilities.

CLS is fully committed to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion. We have a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Forum for staff, and another for pupils, which are used to help drive progress forward.

It is a top priority for the School that we both attract and retain a staff body that is not only excellent, but also reflects the London community within which we live, and our diverse pupil body. As such, it is of paramount importance to the School that we acknowledge our current imbalance and seek to rectify this. We are therefore particularly keen to encourage applications from candidates who have African Caribbean, Asian or other Minority Ethnic or mixed heritage.

All appointments are merit-based, following a fair, transparent recruitment process. In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, however, the School may employ positive action where diverse candidates demonstrate the ability to perform the role equally well.

City of London School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The City of London Corporation is currently undergoing a programme to ensure that our pay and reward practices are competitive and equitable across the whole organisation to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in the work that we do.

Further information about the School and a copy of the most recent ISI Inspection report are available on the school website.

We reserve the right to appoint before this deadline and encourage early submission.
