ASSISTANT ENGINEER’S REPRESENTATIVE (to be based in the Eastern Cape) Location: Eastern Cape, South Africa

Naidu Consulting invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Engineer’s Representative for upcoming and ongoing road maintenance and construction projects in the Eastern Cape.

Minimum Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A Civil Engineering qualification from a recognised tertiary institution
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technician or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Eng Tech / Pr Eng Technologist)
• A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in road maintenance and/or road construction projects
• NQF Level 5 Labour-Based Construction Training (mandatory)
• Proven experience in the supervision, monitoring and execution of labour-based road works
• Must be willing and able to work full-time on site in the Eastern Cape
• Ability to be deployed full-time for the duration of the contract

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineer in administering and supervising road maintenance and construction contracts
• Ensure compliance with contract documentation, specifications and quality standards
• Monitor contractor performance, labour-based methods and site progress
• Prepare site reports, measurements and documentation as required
• Liaise with contractors, stakeholders and the Engineer on site-related matters
