Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Process Safety Engineer to enhance safety protocols and risk management strategies for their operations near East London . This role is vital for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and mitigating operational risks within the chemical and manufacturing sectors. You will lead hazard identification, risk assessment, and the development of safety management systems. • Lead and conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) , including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide technical expertise on process safety aspects of new projects and modifications.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to operational personnel.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering , ideally within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, PHA methodologies, and risk assessment techniques.
• Familiarity with safety codes and standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.
