Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Civil Design Engineer to join their growing team in East London . This role involves the preparation of detailed designs for various civil infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater systems, and earthworks. You will collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to translate project requirements into practical and compliant design solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your design skills and contribute to infrastructure development within the Eastern Cape region, working on diverse and challenging projects.

• Prepare detailed civil engineering designs for roads, earthworks, and drainage systems using CAD software.
• Conduct design calculations for grading, hydraulic analysis, and pavement design.
• Develop technical specifications and tender documentation for civil infrastructure projects.
• Liaise with clients, municipal authorities, and other consultants to ensure design coordination.
• Review construction drawings and provide technical support during the construction phase.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant South African engineering standards and client requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil design engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ideally hydraulic modeling software.
• Understanding of South African road design standards and stormwater management principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent technical drawing and report writing skills.
