About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in East London . This hybrid role offers a balance of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute to challenging projects. You will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and developing complex mechanical systems and components. This position requires a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of engineering principles to drive product innovation and ensure the highest quality standards are met.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to technical strategy, and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within our organization.
- Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems from concept to production, ensuring alignment with project specifications and performance goals.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) to create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and schematics.
- Perform rigorous stress analysis , thermal analysis, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate designs and optimize performance.
- Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and manufacturability of designs.
- Conduct thorough design reviews, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks.
- Document design processes, technical specifications, and test results meticulously for project records and knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD and CAE tools for design, simulation, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and prototyping techniques.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential.
