Civil Engineer - Infrastructure Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and capable Civil Engineer to join their infrastructure development team in East London. This role will focus on the planning, design, and supervision of various municipal and private infrastructure projects, including roads, water reticulation, and stormwater management systems. You will work closely with government bodies, developers, and construction teams to ensure the successful delivery of essential public works.

• Design and develop plans for roads, stormwater systems, water supply, and sanitation infrastructure.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and prepare technical reports.
• Prepare contract documentation, including specifications and drawings for tender purposes.
• Supervise construction activities on-site to ensure quality and adherence to design specifications.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all designs and construction practices comply with relevant municipal bylaws and national standards.

• Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil infrastructure design and project implementation.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure design, construction methods, and project management principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
