About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Civil Design Engineer to contribute to essential infrastructure development projects in the Eastern Cape . This role involves the conceptualization, design, and documentation of various civil infrastructure, including roads, stormwater systems, and site development. You will work within a team of engineers and technicians to deliver technically sound and cost-effective solutions for public and private sector clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer passionate about shaping sustainable infrastructure and contributing to the growth of the region.
- Design and develop civil infrastructure projects, including site grading, drainage, and roadworks.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to inform design decisions.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant national, provincial, and municipal standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.
- Review contractor submittals and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new design technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil infrastructure design.
- Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant hydrological/hydraulic modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of South African planning, design, and construction standards.
- Experience with projects in the Eastern Cape region is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
