About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to oversee the mechanical upkeep and operational efficiency of their facilities in Queenstown . This critical role ensures that all mechanical equipment and systems are functioning optimally, minimizing downtime and ensuring safety. You will develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies, troubleshoot equipment failures, and lead a team of maintenance technicians. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial maintenance, a strong understanding of mechanical systems, and a commitment to operational excellence within the Eastern Cape region.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all mechanical equipment and plant machinery.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical failures, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Oversee a team of maintenance technicians, providing technical guidance and performance management.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
- Implement improvements to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to maintenance activities.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plant machinery.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities for mechanical systems in Queenstown .
