Geophysicist - Seismic Data Interpretation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Geophysicist to join their exploration team in Queenstown . This position will focus on the interpretation of seismic data to identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs and map subsurface structures. You will work closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to integrate geophysical insights into exploration and development strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of seismic processing, interpretation techniques, and their application in the Oil & Gas industry , playing a key role in defining drilling targets and evaluating subsurface potential within our client's acreage.

• Perform seismic data processing and quality control.
• Conduct detailed seismic interpretation to identify structural and strati graphic traps.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs and other geological information.
• Generate maps and cross-sections illustrating subsurface geology.
• Estimate reservoir properties and assess exploration risk based on geophysical attributes.
• Utilize advanced geophysical software and techniques for analysis.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support exploration and development projects.

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Geophysical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in seismic data interpretation within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Proficiency with geophysical software packages (e.g., Petrel, Hampson-Russell, IHS Markit).
• Strong knowledge of seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment in Queenstown .
