About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Municipal Engineer to serve the community of Queenstown . This vital role involves the planning, design, and oversight of municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, water reticulation, sanitation systems, and public spaces, ensuring the continued development and improvement of public services in the Eastern Cape . You will play a key part in managing infrastructure development and maintenance, liaising with various local authorities and community stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is committed to public service and possesses strong organizational and project management skills.
- Plan, design, and manage municipal infrastructure projects such as road construction, water supply, and sanitation systems.
- Oversee the maintenance and upgrade of existing municipal assets.
- Ensure all municipal projects comply with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare tender documents, manage contracts, and supervise construction work.
- Liaise with councillors, community members, and external agencies on infrastructure matters.
- Conduct feasibility studies and prepare technical reports for municipal projects.
- Respond to public queries and concerns regarding infrastructure services.
- BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal or public sector engineering projects.
- Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng) is required.
- Good understanding of municipal finance, project management, and public procurement processes.
- Experience in the design and management of water, sanitation, and road infrastructure.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
