Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Marine

About the Role Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a specialization in marine applications to join their team in East London . This role involves the design and development of complex mechanical systems for marine vessels and offshore equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with maritime standards. You will leverage your expertise in CAD, analysis, and materials science to create innovative solutions for challenging marine environments.

• Design and develop mechanical systems for marine applications, including propulsion, auxiliary, and structural components.
• Perform detailed engineering analysis, including stress analysis , vibration analysis, and fluid dynamics simulations.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation compliant with maritime regulations.
• Collaborate with naval architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure integrated system design.
• Ensure designs meet stringent marine industry standards and environmental requirements.
• Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation of marine mechanical systems.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on marine engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) and analysis tools (FEA, CFD).
• Strong understanding of marine environments, materials suitable for corrosive conditions, and maritime regulations.
• Experience with naval architecture principles is advantageous.
