Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Engineer with a specialization in Water Treatment to join their operations team in East London . This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of water treatment facilities, focusing on process design, optimization, and compliance with environmental standards. You will be responsible for troubleshooting operational issues, implementing process improvements, and ensuring the highest standards of water quality and system reliability.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water chemistry and treatment technologies, contributing to sustainable environmental solutions.
- Design, operate, and optimize chemical processes for water and wastewater treatment.
- Monitor water quality parameters and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to treatment equipment, chemical dosing, and process performance.
- Conduct treatability studies and pilot tests to evaluate new treatment technologies.
- Develop and implement procedures for chemical handling, storage, and waste disposal.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance staff to ensure efficient plant performance and reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in chemical process engineering, with a focus on water treatment technologies.
- Strong understanding of water chemistry, coagulation, flocculation, filtration, and disinfection processes.
- Experience with process control systems and SCADA is advantageous.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations pertaining to water quality.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
