Finance Officer - Non-Profit

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Finance Officer to manage the financial operations of their organization in East London . This role is critical for ensuring the sound financial management and reporting of all funds, upholding transparency and accountability in the Eastern Cape . The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of financial regulations relevant to non-profit organizations.

You will play a key role in budgeting, financial planning, and ensuring the fiscal health of our client, enabling them to maximize their impact.

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Process payroll and manage employee expense reimbursements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support internal and external audits.
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures in East London .

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Finance Officer or Accountant, preferably within the charitable sector .
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial management tools.
• Understanding of grant accounting and fund management is a plus.
