About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and technically proficient Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician to join their team in East London . This critical role involves the continuous monitoring of network infrastructure and services, proactive identification of issues, and rapid response to alarms and service disruptions. You will be the first line of defense in maintaining the stability and availability of our client's telecommunications network .
The ideal candidate is highly attentive to detail, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and can work effectively under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment. This position is essential for ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance for our customer base.
- Monitor network performance and availability using specialized Network Management Systems (NMS) and tools.
- Identify, diagnose, and elevate network issues, service outages, and performance degradation in a timely manner.
- Respond to system alerts and trouble tickets, performing initial troubleshooting and resolution.
- Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Liaise with other technical teams, vendors, and external parties to resolve complex network problems.
- Ensure adherence to established operational procedures and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Previous experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar IT support role.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routers, and switches.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
