Data Loss Prevention; DLP) Specialist

Our client is seeking a dedicated Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Specialist to join their security team in East London . This role is focused on protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or exfiltration. You will be responsible for configuring, managing, and optimizing DLP solutions to enforce data security policies, monitor for potential data breaches, and respond to security incidents related to data leakage.

This is a critical role for maintaining data confidentiality and compliance within the organization.

• Configure, deploy, and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) systems and policies.
• Monitor DLP alerts and investigate potential data leakage incidents.
• Develop and refine DLP rules and signatures to accurately detect sensitive data.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to define data classification and handling policies.
• Respond to DLP-related security incidents and provide support for incident investigation.
• Generate regular reports on DLP effectiveness, incidents, and policy compliance.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on data protection or DLP.
• Hands-on experience with DLP technologies (e.g., Symantec DLP, Forcepoint, Microsoft Purview DLP).
• Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, POPIA) and data classification principles.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
