Overview

Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Development Program – Engineering (SLP – Engineering) is a high-profile rotational program designed to accelerate the development of future leaders in Engineering, Product Management and Operations. It targets recent graduates with engineering internship experience and a relevant degree who are pursuing a long-term career in Engineering, Product Management and Operations.

The Job

During the program you’ll have three 8-month rotations in Engineering, Product Management and Operations at different facilities across the United States. Each rotation includes project assignments to help you understand how the business operates and to contribute to the success of the facility. The program provides valuable early-career development opportunities to jump-start your career.

  • Build core professional skills and competencies in Engineering, including cross-functional relations with Product Management and Operations.
  • Engage with the SLP Program Team, SLP Peers, executives, alumni, and leadership partners.
  • Upon successful performance, receive support with post-program placement into roles that continue to require leadership excellence.
The Person

You love to learn and grow and are acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You’re not intimidated by innovation. You also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of one internship in an engineering-related role.
  • Recent graduates or early-career professionals with less than 2 years of professional experience (including internship/co-op experiences).
  • Willing to relocate to business locations within the same region.
  • Demonstrated leadership values & behaviors, and core professional skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, learning agility, and accountability.
  • Passion and curiosity for function and industry.
  • Software and program experience preferred: SAP, 3D CAD; CATIA, Deep How, etc.
  • Must show proof of citizenship and/or legal work authorization within the region/country where you are applying.
  • English proficiency – native or bilingual fluency.
The Details
  • Must be willing to rotate every 8 months to a new location (mainly U.S. based, but global opportunities may become available).
  • Hybrid work locations:
    Towson, MD;
    East Longmeadow, MA;
    Kannapolis, NC. Other locations may be possible.
