The Job:
  • Prepare feasibility/lean studies for proposed ideas of new product development, including competitive research, product function and features proposal, technical requirements confirmation, project schedule arrangement and budget planning.
  • Create working models of new product concepts using 3D CAD software (CATIA or similar) and subsequently build physical prototypes to support product development.
  • Conduct new product development and improvement to existing products by working closely with global product teams on product design, 3D modeling, testing, and composition of technical documentation.
  • Create 2D drawings, generate and revise Bills of Materials, and maintain engineering documentation.
  • Support R&D projects to keep the process aligned with planned timelines, control the project budget, and achieve all project goals.
  • Develop new testing equipment and procedures as needed to evaluate product features and design.
  • Perform sampling, product testing, and documentation including writing product performance specifications and test plans.
  • Organize and run product evaluations by performing hands‑on and robotic testing using standard and custom power tools and procedures, make test conclusions, determine follow‑up actions, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve product functions, performance, manufacturing process, and cost reduction.
  • Support DFMEA and PFMEA sessions and design reviews.
  • Collect customer feedback to understand demands and provide timely solutions. Set up and support end‑user circuits to gather data from users.
  • Support cross‑functional teams in product innovation and ideation sessions for the development of solutions that resolve end‑user frustrations.
  • Provide technical support, consultation, and training to sales teams, customers, and other teams as the technical expert.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship (H1B, OPT/CPT, TN, etc.).
The Person :
  • Bachelor of Science degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 0–2 years experience in mechanical design; experience in power‑tool accessories preferred.
  • Proficient in one 3D/2D design software (Creo, Pro/E, CATIA, etc.) to maintain product documentation.
  • Understanding of cutting‑tool application and cutting‑tool material properties.
  • Comfortable with hands‑on testing and using power tools in an industrial environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Functions well in a fast‑paced, fast‑changing, and demanding environment to develop world‑class products.

Our base pay range for this position in Massachusetts is $60,000 – 84,000 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign‑on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the position offered.
