As a Security Officer City Service Building Access Control in Northport, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $19.57 / HourJob Schedule:
- Sun: 06:00 AM - 10:00 AM
- Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and/or the public at a utility location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of utility facilities, access points, parking areas, equipment areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, or potential hazards.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report access‑control concerns in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and emergency responders as needed.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
