Job Title: Controller – Construction Industry
Location: East Orange, NJ area

About the Role:
Our client, a growing construction company, is seeking an experienced Controller to manage and oversee the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and office operations. This hands‑on role requires strong construction industry experience and fluency in Portuguese or Spanish to support multi‑lingual teams and operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

• Maintain accurate financial records
  , including accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports
• Manage payroll processing and employee records
• Oversee office operations, including vendor relationships and supplies
• Assist with tax filings, invoicing, and budgeting
• Ensure compliance with financial and company policies
• Handle general administrative tasks such as OSHA‑300, accident reports, union benefits, and vacation schedules

• Proven experience in accounting and financial management within the construction industry
• Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish required
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
• Hands‑on experience with payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
