Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in East Orange, NJ

A full-semester opportunity is available for a skilled Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to support early childhood development at a Pre‑K program in East Orange, NJ. This contract role begins on January 5, 2026, and concludes June 18, 2026, with a commitment of 35 hours per week.

The position focuses on providing speech and language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 13 students, ages 2 to 4 years. The SLP will be assigned to work w Elementary School within the early childhood setting, fostering communication skills during crucial developmental stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s speech and language needs.
  • Deliver direct therapy services targeting speech sound production, language development, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support student progress.
  • Monitor and document student performance and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Provide guidance and support for a caseload of young children with diverse speech and language challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) is highly desired;
    Certified Clinical Fellows (CFY) are welcome to apply.
  • Experience in pediatric speech‑language pathology, particularly within early childhood or school settings.
  • Strong understanding of developmental milestones and early intervention strategies.
  • Ability to engage effectively with young children and their families.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
