Medical Assistant - NYU Langone Cardiology Associates - East Patchogue

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medical Assistant in NYU Langone Cardiology Associates – East Patchogue. The successful candidate will assist physicians and nurses in providing patient and family care. This role requires safe, competent, and compassionate care with an emphasis on understanding the challenges faced by hospitalized patients undergoing procedures or diagnostic tests.

• Assist with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Obtain vital signs, weights, and EKGs as needed and assist with blood collection phlebotomy. Ensure charts and lab work are available for physicians.
• Assist physicians with procedures (e.g., GI procedures and all medical exams).
• Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient and prepared for the next patient. Perform light housekeeping duties, including spills.
• Assist patients with food, toileting, ambulation, and maintaining comfort. Ensure completion of patient charges as per policy.
• Clean and sterilize designated equipment after use. Answer the telephone in the treatment area and assist staff in scheduling treatments. Assist patients in obtaining prescription renewals as needed.
• Stock exam rooms with medical supplies, linen, and chart forms.
• Assist with training new Medical Assistants and perform administrative responsibilities as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Medical Assistant program OR 2 years of Medical Assistant experience. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Basic computer knowledge.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred. Medical Assistant certification preferred. Knowledge of EPIC Ambulatory preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,754.99 - $58,755.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses or incentive pay or differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
