Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our growing, fast‑paced mental health team. In this role you will make a significant impact on patients’ lives while working in a collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in psychiatric care who thrives in a busy practice and is passionate about helping individuals with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including detailed patient histories and mental status examinations.
- Prescribe medications and manage medication regimens for psychiatric patients, ensuring appropriate follow‑up and care.
- Provide follow‑up care in 15‑minute appointments, addressing any medication adjustments, side effects, and progress.
- Handle 30‑minute transfer appointments, facilitating smooth transitions of care for patients referred to our practice.
- Conduct comprehensive 45‑minute intake appointments, gathering essential patient information for effective treatment planning.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, therapists, and medical support staff, to provide optimal patient care.
- Keep accurate and up‑to‑date patient records in accordance with practice policies and HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with the medical team to adjust treatment plans as necessary and provide ongoing patient support.
Qualifications:
Required
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 23 years of experience in psychiatric care or related field, including prescription writing.
- Ability to independently assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric conditions.
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and evidence‑based practices.
- Comfortable working in a busy, high‑volume environment with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills with a genuine desire to work with diverse patient populations.
Preferred
- Experience in outpatient psychiatric care or community mental health settings.
- Familiarity with eClinical
Works (ECW).
