Position: Cook Manager

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time

Location: East Patchogue, NY

Salary: $48,000

Monday - Friday; 10am - 6pm

Description: Concern Housing is seeking a Cook Manager responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; and training of part-time cook & dishwasher.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure all food and products are prepared and served according to recipes, portioning, and standards.
• Provide orientation on kitchen rules, policies, and procedures; oversee training of new kitchen staff.
• Prepare required paperwork such as forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper working condition of all equipment through inspections and following maintenance policies.
• Order products according to specifications, ensure correct receipt, and adhere to receiving policies.
• Control food costs and usage through proper requisition, storage, recipes, and waste management.
• Report personnel concerns to the program director and oversee training on safe operation of kitchen equipment.
• Ensure sanitation practices are followed and maintain cleaning schedules for all kitchen areas.
• Monitor food holding and refrigeration temperatures; ensure scheduled cleaning is completed.
• Stay current with all required compliance documents and trainings.

Position Requirements: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in various kitchen roles including food prep, line cook, fry cook, and expediter, with at least 6 months in a supervisory capacity. Must communicate effectively with staff and guests, and be able to reach, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Availability to work in a standing position for extended periods is required.
