Are you looking for an opportunity to learn a specialized skill within a manufacturing environment? Caterpillar Building KK in East Peoria, IL is looking to train new employees that desire to become our next employees in Heat Treat.

The Metal Treating Specialist Trainee program is a paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated individuals interested in a career in manufacturing and learning new skills. Positions may be available on all shifts after training on 1st shift for 4‑6 weeks at the facility. Upon completion of the program, individuals will be responsible for:

• Set up, operate, and adjust heat‑treat equipment to perform carburizing, cycle annealing, and die quenching of gears
• Work in an environment with extreme and frequently changing temperatures
• Stand for a minimum of 8‑hour shifts
• Perform frequent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, climbing, and repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, rotating

• High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience

• High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
• Basic computer skills
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends

• Previous heat treat experience
• Previous machine shop experience
• Strong commitment to safety at all times
• Excellent attitude and willingness to learn

• Pay is $23.22/hr
• Positions are available for 2nd & 3rd shift in East Peoria Bldg. KK
• This is a supplemental position – minimum 40 hours per week with limited benefits available
• Relocation is not offered for this position
• This position requires no travel
