3rd shift available – Full Time – East Peoria LL

Career Area: Operations

Pay: Up to $24.97 per hour, depending on experience, plus $1.00 per hour off‑shift premium. Welders may elect to receive a $4.00 per hour retention bonus immediately.

• Perform manual finish welding operations on plain and alloy steels in all positions
• Operate robotic welding equipment
• Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe and defect‑free operations
• Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging
• Sanding may be required to dress welds
• Use of jib and overhead crane to manually position work pieces

• Must be able to pass multiple welder qualification tests during Caterpillar provided training
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a production environment using GMAW with 0.045” or larger wire on ½” or greater thickness material
• Ability to perform simple computer operations
• Be available to work any shift
• Ability to work overtime to support production demands

• Three (3) years of GMAW welding experience
• Technical school or equivalent educational background in mechanical or similar discipline

• Good communication skills and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Ability to work well individually or in a team environment

• Company‑provided PPE (Safety Glasses, Weld Hood, Safety Boot Reimbursement)
• Shift: 3rd shift 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
• Training will be completed on 1st shift for the first 4‑5 weeks
• 90‑day probationary period includes weld school training
• This position is located in East Peoria Bldg LL – no relocation package available
• Must pass welder qualification requirements during Caterpillar provided training by a Certified Welding Educator (CWE), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), or approved personnel
• Safety is a core value at Caterpillar; all candidates must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen held to DOT standards for prohibited substances
