Fabrication Specialist – 3rd Shift (10:00 pm to 6:00 am) – Full Time – East Peoria, IL

Pay:
Up to $24.97 per hour based on experience, plus $1.00 per hour off‑shift premium. Welders may elect to receive a $4.00 per hour retention bonus immediately.

Training will be completed on 1st shift for the first 4–5 weeks. 90‑day probationary period includes welding school training.

• Perform manual finish welding operations on plain and alloy steels in all positions
• Operate robotic welding equipment
• Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe and defect‑free operations
• Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging
• Sanding may be required to dress welds
• Use jib and overhead crane to manually position work pieces

• Must be able to pass multiple welder qualification tests during the Caterpillar‑provided training
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in a production environment using GMAW with 0.045” or larger wire on ½” or greater thickness material
• Ability to perform simple computer operations
• Be available to work any shift and able to work overtime to support production demands

• Three (3) years of GMAW welding experience
• Technical school or equivalent education in mechanical or related discipline

• Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Ability to work well individually or in a team environment

• Incremental increases will be applied every 26 weeks until the maximum rate is reached.
• Position located at East Peoria Building LL.
• No relocation package available.
• Caterpillar requires all candidates to pass a pre‑employment drug screen held to DOT standards for prohibited substances.
