Job Description

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently through the check lane.
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders and coupons according to company policy.
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages and overages, and control loss effectively.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions.
- Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents to management.
- Maintain equipment and report repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions.
- Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
- Act with honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Customer service experience
- Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
