Warehouse Floater

Overview

The Warehouse Floater is responsible for temporarily filling in for any Material Handler position or Receiver position that may be vacant. This role requires daily operation of a sit‑down forklift and an order‑picker, involving work at an elevation of 20 feet. Key duties include loading/unloading material, staging material for storage or shipment, and accurately tracking transactions through the scanner/tablet system. Basic email and Excel spreadsheet use is required.

The floater will maintain a safe and clean work area by cleaning as needed.

• Fill in temporarily for any vacant Material Handler or Receiver positions.
• Pull material and stage it at the proper location.
• Load and unload material.
• Receive material on the inbound dock.
• Ensure every material move is accompanied by an accurate and confirmed transaction with scanner/tablet.
• Ensure proper material handling and packaging to meet quality standards.
• Operate overhead crane.
• Operate (be certified for) a sit‑down forklift and an order‑picker.
• Work efficiently to achieve or exceed performance targets for velocity, quality, and cost.
• Understand and follow all ISO and 5S initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified to operate sit‑down/cherry picker power industrial truck.
• Previous experience operating a counter balance forklift.
• Six months experience in third‑party warehousing.
