Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

The Buyer will support daily purchasing and order-management activities for the Distribution Center. This person will create and manage purchase orders, place orders, review pricing, resolve invoice discrepancies, and work with vendors and internal departments to ensure supplies and equipment are purchased accurately and on time. The Buyer will also identify opportunities to reduce costs, standardize products, consolidate purchases, and increase the use of contracted and preferred vendors.

• Create, edit, and process purchase orders for supplies and minor equipment.
• Manage standard and special purchase orders, including quotes, repairs, bulk purchases, trial products, urgent orders, and bill-only orders.
• Monitor purchase confirmations, pricing, invoices, and vendor records for discrepancies.
• Work with vendors, Distribution Center staff, Accounts Payable, and other internal teams to resolve purchasing or invoicing issues.
• Review expedited and second-day purchases to help manage inventory levels, supplier lead times, and freight costs.
• Track open issues and follow up through email, phone, voicemail, and electronic systems.
• Maintain knowledge of supplier products, services, contracts, and preferred purchasing sources.
• Identify cost-savings, contract-utilization, product-standardization, and supplier-consolidation opportunities.
• Educate internal customers on proper purchasing processes and the use of contracted vendors.

• 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
• HS Diploma or GED Experience creating and managing purchase orders.
• Ability to review and resolve pricing, order, invoice, or vendor discrepancies.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive requests.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work effectively with vendors, internal customers, Accounts Payable, and other supply chain team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related field.
• Experience purchasing medical products, supplies, or equipment.
• Healthcare supply chain experience.
• Familiarity with contracted vendors, preferred suppliers, and product-standardization initiatives.
• Experience with invoice matching, credits, rebills, statements, or accruals.
• Experience supporting inventory optimization or reducing expedited freight costs..
