Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
  • Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
  • Start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall to prepare for the busy tax season; transition to full-time from January to April, including evening and weekend hours as needed. Role is in-person and not remote.
  • Travel between offices as required.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment*
What you ll bring to the team
  • Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
  • Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
  • Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and coordinate with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.
  • Build an engaging, cross-office team environment through training and coaching; recognize outstanding contributions.
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
  • Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management for associates in all offices.
Your Expertise
  • People management experience with a track record of growing and developing associates.
  • Aptitude for executing growth plans and leading a growth-focused culture.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills; able to perform in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset to understand and exceed client needs.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office.
  • Bachelor s degree in a related field, or a high school diploma with equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns)*
