About the RoleAt AAA Northeast, we continue to grow with a mission that remains focused on helping and serving. We’re looking for automotive technicians who are passionate about prevention and repair. The role requires performing preventive maintenance and making repairs to Club‑owned vehicles under general supervision.
What You Will Do- Schedule and perform vehicle preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tune‑ups, and tire rotations.
- Diagnose vehicle issues, often using computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Replace worn or broken parts, align wheels, adjust brakes, tighten bearings, tune engines, etc.
- Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined.
- Perform minor body work.
- Disassemble and overhaul engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends and other assemblies for automobile and light truck repairs.
- Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs, and requisition new parts and equipment.
- Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective.
- Review completed maintenance and repair work with management and vehicle operators.
- Perform emergency road service as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position is $26.50 – $29.50 per hour. Base pay varies depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, shift differentials and experience. Annual bonuses and incentives are also offered. Employees may participate in award‑winning medical, dental, vision, wellness, financial (6% 401(k) match), and a wide array of other benefits.
Additional $2.75 per hour overnight shift differential on any hours worked between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.; $1.75 per hour evening shift differential for hours between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.; $1 per hour shift differential for working weekend hours. Differentials can be combined.

Automotive repair and maintenance technician, preferably on light‑duty and medium‑duty trucks (Required)
Licenses and Certifications

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification (Preferred)

- Operate a variety of automotive diagnostic equipment, interpret results, and perform repairs following training.
- Repair machines or systems using required tools.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine necessary maintenance.
- Determine required tools/equipment for a job.
- Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
- Monitor gauges, dials, or indicators to ensure proper machine operation.
- Diagnose operating errors and resolve them.
