Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Technician will support the engineering team in product development, process improvement, and equipment maintenance. The role involves executing product and process development tasks, performing R&D testing, maintaining production equipment, and supporting installation and repair activities.
Job Type: Full‑time
Responsibilities- Execute product, process development, and R&D testing support by setting up and running experiments, collecting data, and assisting with prototype builds and process trials.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production and lab equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
- Assist with the installation, setup, relocation, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and R&D equipment in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
- Maintain facilities, including HVAC, lighting, compressed air, and water filtration systems, and follow safety protocols.
- Keep the work environment clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field (or equivalent technical training/experience).
- 1+ year of experience in a technical role within manufacturing, engineering, or product development.
- Familiarity with basic mechanical and electrical systems, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
- Capability to work in a fast‑paced environment to meet deadlines and quotas.
- Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with a hands‑on can‑do attitude.
- General knowledge of manufacturing preferred.
- Must be a U.S. Person eligible to work in the United States.
- Will travel to Maine 3–5 days per month for maintenance support.
- General office and manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools.
- Work near electrical and mechanical equipment that could affect pacemakers.
- Reading, writing, and speaking English required.
- Manual dexterity and precise manipulation of small objects.
- Repetitive hand movements for assembly or packaging tasks.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; use hand truck for items over 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing, walking to various stations, and sitting, bending, stooping motions.
- Visual acuity for reading measurements and monitoring equipment; hearing to detect alarms and machinery sounds.
- Wearing appropriate PPE as outlined by company safety protocols required.
