This Operator position is a fully trained Aging/Extraction Operator responsible for monitoring a continuous chemical process, creating batches, operating a computerized process control system, and maintaining records. The role requires forklift, hoist, and crane usage and is performed during a night shift (12‑hour shifts, 4‑days on / 4‑days off with overtime as needed).
Key Responsibilities- Maintain awareness and achievement of production goals.
- Perform duties in accordance with written instructions, procedures, and safety and environmental policies.
- Work with multiple chemical solutions in line with product requirements.
- Execute mixing operations accurately.
- Monitor plant equipment performance and process conditions using instruments, gauges, and meters.
- Complete required ongoing annual and job‑specific training on time.
- Communicate with engineering and maintenance staff as required.
- Record all required production data.
- Assess and respond to workplace hazards.
- Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety procedures; intervene professionally when necessary.
- Label or prepare disposal containers with exact contents and batch numbers.
- Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment for transferring mandrels.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- Maintain 6S and proper housekeeping.
- Escalate process deviations to Engineering and Management.
- Monitor the Aging and Extraction system via ABB HMI.
- Maintain process guidelines and cadence.
- Move MPCs and blankets via overhead electric cranes.
- Troubleshoot Aging and Extraction systems.
- Maintain extractor seals through cleaning and O‑ring replacement.
- Perform CIP on high‑pressure headers timely.
- Conduct top CIPs when required by process standards.
- Adopt Aspen’s core values.
- Internal cross‑training or prior crane experience required.
- Fork‑truck certification required.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and experience.
- Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in different production areas and related equipment following a training plan.
- Ability to work 12‑hour shifts; 4‑days on / 4‑days off with overtime as needed.
- Stand, walk, sit, and use hand and finger dexterity continuously.
- Climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl continually.
- Exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, outside weather, and extreme heat or cold occasionally.
- Work in a noisy environment.
- Occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds.
- Use specialized equipment: forklift, hoist.
