Subject teachers are informed, reflective practitioners who use inquiry-based teaching strategies to create positive learning environments that motivate and challenge learners to become proactive, life‑long learners and leaders. As a member of our English department, you will be teaching groups of learners between years 7 to 13 (ages 11 to 18). We deliver the IB MYP, IGCSE (Cambridge for Language, Edexcel for Literature), and IBDP across the Secondary school.

• Using appropriate assessment tools for formative and summative assessment
• Using assessment information to plan progression
• Providing high‑quality scaffolding and feedback to learners
• Encouraging learners to reflect on their learning
• Engaging learners in setting learning goals
• Involving parents in their children’s learning through learner‑led conferences and regular parent‑teacher dialogue
• Employing and integrating IT to enhance learning
• Supporting learners to solve authentic problems related to real‑world situations
• Collaborating positively within a team and across teams
• Meeting the Nexus Teacher Professional Standards, aspiring to grow and develop and being committed to professional learning
• Involvement in whole‑school events and activities as required
• Working with learners as a form tutor as assigned, helping them set and achieve personal goals

• A recognised teaching qualification
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in English, Literature, Linguistics, Education, or a related field
• Evidence of continued relevant professional development
• Experience working with bilingual and multilingual learners and learners with diverse needs
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in an international school environment where the school curriculum focuses on IBMYP, IGCSE or IBDP (preferred)
