Position: Systems Administrator –
location: Satellite office in East Rutherford, NJ

Direct Recruit Agency is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems and servers. You will work closely with our IT team to ensure that our systems are running smoothly and efficiently.

• USC only - moderate background required. Looking for someone well‑versed in Linux administration, Linux connectivity, and troubleshooting - minimum 5 years of experience.
• Top skills: linux, strong troubleshooting skills, creative thinking, strong change management, communication - written and verbal, ability to keep a calm demeanor.
• Technical lead by providing high‑level support for all Client Bank critical systems and applications with zero or minimal downtime.
• Oracle (Solaris) and Red Hat Linux Virtualizations.
• IBM Web Sphere (versions from 3.X, 4.X, 5.X, 6.X and 8.X) on both Solaris and Linux.
• IBM MQ (versions from 5.X, 6.X and 9.X) on both Solaris and Linux.
• TREP (Thompson Reuters Enterprise Platform), RMDS (Reuters Markets Data System), DACS, Wombat Refinitiv.
• Storage Provisioning using Client (3
  
  PAR) administration.
• OS and Application Monitoring using Fog Light and BMC Patrol.
• Backup using Commvault, Veritas Net Backup (using Symantec appliances).
• Server provisioning using Client Opsware.
• Users and Server access provisioning using Centrify DC.
• Informatica experience, hands‑on installation, what it is/how it runs.

• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Perform regular backups and ensure data is secure and retrievable.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Maintain system documentation and keep it up‑to‑date.
• Identify and implement system improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
• Stay up‑to‑date with new technologies and make recommendations for system upgrades.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end‑users.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and procedures.
• Manage hardware and software inventory and make recommendations for purchases.
• Create and maintain system reports for management.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Certification in Microsoft, Linux, or other relevant technologies is a plus.
