Title: Business Development Manager – Developers
Reports To: Director of Business Development and Marketing
Location: Remote, Hybrid, or Onsite
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business growth, cultivating strategic relationships with mall developers, and securing national or regional agreements that establish our company as the preferred or required barricade vendor. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in B2B sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex, multi‑stakeholder relationships within the commercial real estate and retail development sectors.
POSITIONACCOUNTABILITIES
- Achieve Revenue Targets:
The fundamental goal is to meet or exceed the growth sales targets that will come from building a portfolio of brand new accounts (net new logos and properties) and successfully onboarding (e.g. contractual negotiations, rate structures, and service level agreements) into Boston Retail Solutions.
- Expanding Developer Relationships. Build and strengthen both new and existing relationships with mall developers, with the goal of establishing national or regional agreements that position the company as the preferred barricade and graphic vendor.
- Drive Strategic Engagements. Identify the right contacts within development organizations, create compelling presentations, and provide consultative solutions that demonstrate the value of a standardized barricade partnership across multiple properties.
- Lead the Agreement Process. Manage the full cycle of national and regional developer agreements, including drafting and negotiating contracts, and working closely with internal operations teams to ensure seamless onboarding and execution once agreements are secured.
- Proactive identification and pursuit of new sales opportunities. This involves generating new business through effective solution sales techniques and managing the entire sales process from initial prospecting to securing deals.
- Demonstrate sales acumen, product knowledge, and a strong client‑centric approach to relationship management.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and lead generation.
- Build and maintain strong, long‑lasting client relationships, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Use given sales strategies to achieve and exceed individual sales quotas.
- Creates compelling proposals and delivers engaging presentations to prospective and existing developer clients, tailoring solutions to demonstrate the value of long‑term barricade partnerships and regional agreements.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market demands to identify new growth opportunities.
- Work closely with the design, production, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system, providing regular reports on sales performance, contacts made, and sales step progression.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent experience is required.
- 5+ years of proven experience in B2B sales, with a track record of securing contracts and long‑term agreements with enterprise‑level or developer clients.
- Experience with retail general contractors is highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong customer relationship management skills, including the creation of customer messaging and excellent verbal skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels in the organization, including C‑Suite.
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand complex client needs.
- Hub Spot and or relevant direct experience with CRM as a prospecting tool.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated success as a self‑starter working independently.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and results‑driven.
- Ability to learn and articulate technical product information.
