Reports to: Operations Manager
Compensation: $29.73 per hour plus benefits available through union

About This Role and About You
The Chemical Operator is an integral part of the production team, responsible for the overall chemical production process including weighing, mixing chemical ingredients, monitoring equipment and the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is attentive, knowledgeable, and collaborative, working with other production team members to develop best processes and products.
Qualifications – Knowledge- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or production.
- Experience working with forklifts preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
- Experience using Microsoft programs, maintenance management systems, and email.
- Aptitude for mechanics.
- Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.
- Perform chemical manufacturing operations safely and effectively.
- Record information such as ingredients, weights, and temperatures and input into database.
- Monitor and control pressure and temperature of chemical process equipment.
- Operate plant equipment in accordance with SOPs.
- Handle, transport, and process chemicals safely.
- Document plant processes and record production data.
- Operate tank truck and railcar vessel, opening, loading, and unloading of product, operation of pumps, piping, and valves.
- Troubleshoot issues with production equipment and processes.
- Maintain plant inventory records.
- Operate mobile equipment: backhoe, track mobile, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
- Perform daily housekeeping duties and plant upkeep.
- Chemical manufacturing plant producing Liquid Alum, ACH, and PAC chemicals.
- Physical capability to perform tasks in up to 100°F ambient temperatures wearing PPE.
- Requires climbing stairs and ladders and lifting within OSHA guidelines.
- Outdoor environment with radiating heat or cold; rotating shifts.
- Adheres to all plant safety guidelines: confined space, working at heights, management of change, hot work, and operating procedures.
- Must be able to work scheduled 8‑hour days with intermittent 14–16 hour days for emergency operations/repairs.
