Overview

We are hiring immediately for full time COOK positions.

Location:

East St Louis School District - 1005 State Street, East Saint Louis, IL 62208.

Schedule:

Full time, Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. More details upon interview.

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature, attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items.
• Uses established ticket procedures during service and maintains records from the area worked during service periods.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintains high standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food per safe handling procedures.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Stores food and supplies according to standards.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Assists in ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attends in-service and safety meetings. Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, administrators and managers.
• Performs job safely, maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures, including safe handling and use of gloves, mitts and protective footwear as applicable.
• Maintains personal safety and safety of others.

• Previous prep cooking experience.
• Valid Food Handler's card.

• Pay Range: $15.00 per hour to $16.00 per hour.
