We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician with renewable energy experience to join our growing commercial solar and battery storage division.
This is a hands-on field role responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and helping commission electrical systems for commercial solar PV and BESS projects throughout the Midwest, working under the direction of our Master Electrician.
The ideal candidate brings solid commercial electrical experience, a commitment to quality workmanship and safety, and the ability to guide apprentices on the job site.
Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test electrical systems for commercial solar PV and BESS projects, including conduit, wiring, inverters, combiners, switch gear, and battery enclosures
- Support commissioning, startup, and quality control for solar, battery storage, and hybrid energy systems
- Assist with utility interconnection, inspections, and energization activities
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, local electrical codes, utility requirements, and AHJ standards
- Direct, mentor, and support apprentices on the job site
- Read and work from electrical plans, single-line diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Troubleshoot electrical and commissioning issues for solar and battery storage systems
- Coordinate with the Master Electrician, project managers, and inspectors throughout project execution
- Support permitting and inspection readiness on site
- Maintain high-quality workmanship standards and keep work on schedule
- Follow safe work practices and uphold company safety culture across all projects
- Travel to project sites across Missouri, Illinois, and the Midwest as needed
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Active Journeyman Electrician license required – Illinois and Missouri preferred
- 3+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
- Commercial solar PV and/or BESS experience preferred
- Working knowledge of NEC, utility requirements, and local electrical codes
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings
- Hands-on experience with conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations, and electrical test equipment
