Job Overview
The St. Luke's Physician provides medical services in both practice and hospital settings, delivering comprehensive, cost‑effective care. The Physician participates in quality improvement initiatives and ensures adherence to best practice evidence‑based medicine.
Responsibilities- Perform history and physical examinations of all patients.
- Provide cost‑effective, high‑quality care based on best practice evidence‑based medicine.
- Adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines approved by the medical staff.
- Demonstrate competency in assessment, treatment, and communication appropriate to patient age.
- Communicate regularly and timely with referring physicians, patients, and families.
- Educate patients and families and provide preventative health guidance.
- Evaluate and implement patient health care needs; initiate treatment through prescriptions, diagnostic tests, exams, and procedures.
- Review lab results and plan actions according to findings.
- Co‑ordinate patient care, make referrals, and collaborate with nurses, physicians, psychologists, nutritionists, and outside agencies.
- Maintain knowledge of current medical practices and ensure confidentiality of all patient information.
- Sitting up to 3 hours per day.
- Standing up to 8 hours per day.
- Walking up to 6 hours per day.
- Lifting up to 10 pounds routinely; up to 75 pounds occasionally; up to 100 pounds rarely.
- Pushing/pulling patients up to 300 pounds in a wheelchair or stretcher rarely.
- Frequent manual handling, twisting, and turning for therapeutic procedures.
- Normal vision (near, far, color, peripheral) and hearing (normal conversation, high and low frequencies).
Graduate of an accredited medical school with completion of residency and/or fellowship in the area of specialty.
Training and ExperienceCurrent or recent experience in the area of specialty.
Licensing and Certifications- MD or DO licensed by the state licensure board within the State of practice.
- Board Certified or Eligible in the specialty by the appropriate medical board.
