What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

• Technical Support and Development:
  Conduct technical analysis and troubleshooting of products to identify and resolve issues related to performance, reliability, and safety.
• Monitor and analyze field data and customer feedback to identify product performance trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and execute testing and validation plans to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and customer requirements.

  Collaboration:
  
  Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer support, to drive product improvements and implement design changes.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain/Purchasing to evaluate and select components, materials, and technologies to meet product requirements and improve product performance.
• Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and service technicians, by addressing inquiries, resolving technical issues, and providing product documentation and training.
• Analysis and Documentation:
  Develop and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, engineering change orders, and reports to ensure accurate and up-to-date product information.
• Participate in product design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analyses to identify and mitigate potential product issues and improve product performance.

Required Experience

• Up to 2 years of experience in sustaining engineering or product development.

Preferred Experience , Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Working knowledge and proficiency in CAD, Solid Works, Creo, and Windchill.
• Experience with product testing, validation, and compliance with regulatory standards, such as ASME, CSA, and ANSI.
• Experience with boiler control systems, automation, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies is a plus.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

Travel & Working Environment

• Work in an office environment, able to use a computer, and communicate effectively in oral and written form.
• Manufacturing environment frequently requires use of foot and eye protection when in production areas.
