Gleeds is seeking experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our expanding team supporting the delivery of nuclear new‑build projects that will help power Britain’s sustainable future. These landmark developments are central to the UK’s energy independence, economic growth, and transition toward a more sustainable, low‑carbon future.
Key Responsibilities- Manage contracts from inception (pre‑contract support such as tender evaluation) to completion (post‑contract support)
- Utilise NEC contract forms (Options A, B, C, and
E) and bespoke forms where required - Engage stakeholders across a portfolio of projects
- Issue and review early warning notices
- Price and assess compensation events
- Prepare monthly commercial reports
- Oversee contractors and subcontractors accounts
- Update risk registers and review programmes
- Issue payment certificates and perform valuation assessments of the works
- Ensure work is delivered to specification and within cost
- Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management, ideally in the nuclear, civil engineering or service contracting sectors
- Broad technical knowledge of procurement, supply chain, cost and commercial management – both pre‑ and post‑contract
- HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Law or a related discipline, or an alternative background (e.g. Engineering) with significant on‑the‑job experience
- Professional membership of RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or another relevant chartered institute is desirable and will be supported if not yet attained
