Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Water Quality and Water Management SME to support the Sizewell C construction phase in London, United Kingdom. This is a hybrid, permanent, full-time role offering excellent benefits and a competitive salary. Client Overview
Our client is delivering one of the UK’s most significant construction projects and requires a dedicated expert in environmental compliance to ensure water management standards are met throughout the build phase.
Responsibilities
Act as SME providing specialist advice on water management and discharges to the Environmental Services Lead and project teams.
Review and challenge new and existing permits, licences, and consents to ensure compliance and identify risks.
Maintain oversight of water management systems and oversee risk mitigation strategies.
Assure water monitoring activities, reviewing data accuracy, quality, and emerging trends.
Ensure environmental monitoring schedules are complete and compliant with relevant requirements.
Provide technical assurance of water management plans, mitigation measures, and related arrangements.
Support technical reviews of incidents and non-compliance, producing assurance notes where required.
Undertake assurance checks and risk-based inspections, reporting findings and recommendations.
Must-have Requirements
Strong understanding of water management, water discharges, flood risk, and permit compliance.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks, national and international legislation related to water quality and resources.
Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing abilities across multiple stakeholders.
Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to deliver from start to finish.
Degree qualified or equivalent in environmental science or related discipline.
Proven experience providing assurance and regulatory technical oversight.
Nice-to-have Skills
Experience in managing water quality issues on large infrastructure or engineering projects.
Experience building strong relationships with regulators.
Familiarity with water or hydrogeological modelling.
Professional membership in a relevant body.
Additional qualifications or training in water management.
