As a Legal Cashier, you'll play a key role in supporting the firm by ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and in line with the SRA Accounts Rules. Whatyou will be doing:
- Managing property completions from start to finish, including checking completion statements and slips, setting up telegraphic transfers (TTs), processing completion funds and releasing payments.

- Monitoring potential breaches and issuing reminders where action is required.
- Processing client-to-client transfers.
- Calculating and posting client interest where applicable.
- Taking debit and credit card payments over the phone.
- Processing write-offs and transaction requisitions.
- Reviewing files for closure, ensuring balances are cleared and interest has been accounted for.
- Posting Land Registry transactions.
- Processing incoming and outgoing cheques, including bank preparations.
- Producing Statements of Account for clients and fee earners.
- Supporting the wider Accounts team and providing cover where required.
- Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm.
- A good understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience using legal practice management systems would be advantageous.
You'll be someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes ownership of your work. You'll have a methodical approach, be comfortable working to deadlines and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality while delivering an excellent internal service.
