Overview
A well-established and super friendly firm of Chartered Accountants is on the lookout for a NEW member of the senior team!
This is a varied and rewarding role, offering responsibility for managing audit assignments, preparing statutory accounts and acting as a trusted adviser to a broad client portfolio. You'll work closely with Directors and Audit Managers whilst supporting and mentoring junior team members.
This role is Monday-Friday office based ideally but if hybrid is essential, it can be discussed.
Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher salaries can also be discussed.
Duties
- Plan, manage and complete audit assignments for a varied portfolio of charity clients and other businesses
- Lead audits from planning through to completion
- Liaise directly with clients throughout audit and accounts assignments
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for charities, limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Prepare and review audit working papers and supporting documentation
- Identify key audit risks and ensure compliance with relevant standards
- Prepare management accounts and VAT returns where required
- Support clients with bookkeeping and accounting software queries
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Supervise, train and support junior members of the team
- Review work prepared by trainees and provide constructive feedback
- Assist Partners and Managers with technical and ad-hoc assignments
- Support ongoing improvements to internal systems and processes
What we're looking for
A successful candidate will have strong previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice ideally focused on audit. Candidates that are qualified by experience can be considered!
Experience working with charities and knowledge of Charities SORP would be advantageous, although not essential.
