The Role
An established accountancy practice is looking to recruit an Accounting Technician or AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified accountant to join its busy Accounts team.
You will work with a varied portfolio of personal and business clients, providing accounts and tax compliance services while developing your technical knowledge and professional experience.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare sole trader accounts, personal tax returns, company accounts and corporation tax returns
- Assist with the management of a varied client portfolio
- Provide VAT compliance and related advice
- Communicate with clients and colleagues regarding queries, issues and findings
- Maintain high technical and professional standards
- Support and develop junior members of the team
- Work with Xero and other cloud-based accounting systems
- Manage your own workload and ensure deadlines are met
- Undertake wider accountancy practice duties as required
- AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA qualified
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- Experience preparing accounts and tax returns
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Able to work independently and prioritise effectively
- Good problem-solving and investigative skills
- Confident using Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
